January 3, 2012

After a long, hectic, but terrific holiday season, everyone's schedule returned to normal today.  The boys and Emily are back to school (Emily is an elementary school music teacher).

Feeling almost 100% today, however, I decided to not push the physical stuff and hold off on working out for 1 more day.  Speaking of working out, I was inspired by one of my fellow twitter "crohnies" today.  She goes by the twitter name of "semicolon girl".  She also writes a crohns related blog (www.semicolongirl.com).  I read her blog today and she is going to run a half marathon sponsored by the CCFA (Crohns, Colitis Foundation of America) in June.  I began running in October and that inspired me to do the same.  I sent out my info to the CCFA and am looking to do the half marathon in Virginia sometime in June.  Twitter was something I had never considered becoming a member of until I decided to start this blog.  I could care less that some "celebrity" is about to walk their dog, however, it is a terrific site for groups of people to communicate and hopefully help each other.  My twitter name is "crohnsbeater" and most of the people I follow and follow me are also crohns sufferers.  It is really amazing the amount of emotional support we all give to each other.  Most of us have never met, however, we all can relate to what each other has to deal with on a daily basis.

Food was back to normal today.  Cereal in the morning, eggs for lunch and pasta for dinner.  Typically, no matter how well I feel, I still have at least one of my meal replacement shakes, instead of food.  Today, because each meal was pretty light, I did not.  Feeling really great tonight, looks like tomorrow I will officially kick off training for my June run.
